Two children Baragazza, named Donato Nutini and Cornelia Vangelisti, were in Boccadirio tending the sheep. While waiting at the pasture, sometimes they gathered in prayer. During one of these moments, the Madonna, all wrapped in white, appeared to them, across the river on a cliff to the west. Moving from this cliff, the Blessed Virgin came close to two children and there Donato promised to become a priest and Cornelia to be a nun, showing the monastery, the place and form, where she will live. The white lady also carried another message that affected the nearby people and those of all the surrounding valleys. She asked the two children, to make known her desire to be venerated in that place and promises her protection. Returning home, Donato and Cornelia tell all about appearance and the words they heard. After an initial hesitation, the population believed the simple and naive story of the two children. They immediately began to manufacture, at the place where Our Lady had spoken to the two children, a small church dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, became in time the rich and complex architectural that is now the sanctuary of Boccadirio.
