History
The Preacher's Church (actually St. Peter and St. Paul) is the Protestant parish church of Rottweil, in Baden-Württemberg . The church was first monastery church of a Dominican monastery and was after the transition to Rottweil Württemberg 1802/03 the Protestant parish church.
The church was built from the year 1268 on the initiative of Albertus Magnus as a monastery church of the Dominican monastery built in Rottweil and probably consecrated 1282. During the siege of Rottweil in the Thirty Years' War by the troops of the French marshal Guébriant in late 1643, the so-called miracle of the eyes turn, after which occurred pilgrimage to the church began. In the years 1753-1755 the church was late baroque redesigned, takes into including a Gothic rood screen removed and reshaped the altar area. The altar of the miracle is now at the Holy Cross Cathedral. After Rottweil 1802/03 of Württemberg came, the monastery was dissolved and left the church in 1806, the Protestant members of the garrison in Rottweil, Württemberg. 1818 the building was finally the Protestant parish church of the previously Flözlingen collected from supervised Protestant church in Rottweil. In 1924 the church was extensively renovated. Another reorganization took place, also due to the damage caused by quartering of numerous prisoners of war after the Second World War, already back in the years 1970 to 1974 instead, the casting of the two bells was 1950.
